During the pandemic, one of the world's leading orchestras was faced with the daunting task of continuing to raise funding while performances were cancelled for the foreseeable future. The goal of this proposal was to increase the level of performance funding from a major arts foundation by emphasizing the Orchestra's past accomplishments in a particular program, which elevated women composers, and by positioning the Orchestra as a community-focused anchor despite the health crisis. The proposal was successful in increasing funding by 30%, the requested amount. (see below)
